Hair Loss
Here are the main causes of hair loss:
Causes of Hair Loss #1 Stress
Following an illness or an operation or a breakdown of relationship etc. The good news is that this type of hair loss is usually temporary.
Causes of Hair Loss #2 Female hormones
Hair loss can strike during pregnancy. However, usually soon after the pregnancy, when hormones return to their normal cycle, so does hair growth which should mean the end to hair loss.Causes of Hair Loss #3 Male hormones
Millions of men are affected by hair loss, most commonly resulting in pattern balding. This is caused by increased levels of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone which is referred to as (DHT). This is a bi product of testosterone and when there is a build up of it attacks hair growth by shortening the growth phase and by shrinking the hair follicle.Causes of Hair Loss #4 Medicines
Such as anti depressants, birth control pills and vitamins can cause hair loss, so consider what you are taking and consult your doctor.Causes of Hair Loss #5 Fungal infections
Most often found in children. Fortunately, this form of hair loss can be easily treated with anti fungal medicines.Causes of Hair Loss #6 Ill health
An underlying disease such as diabetes can lead to hair loss which is why it is important to take a full medical consultation when you notice changes in your body.Causes of Hair Loss #7 Things to be avoided
Pigtails, tight hairstyles, hot oil treatments, perms etc as they can all cause hair loss so be careful.Comments to date: 1. This is page 1 of 1.

HI i have been a student in poland for 3 years and the water here is made of calcium and i kno it contains hard minerals. The water was was the reason i thought i was losing hair, but in turn wasn't the reason. I felt it was genetic and stress related due to the fact i am in medical school. I have been thinning my hair for about 2 years now since i was 19. I am 21 now. All its doing right now is thinning. Everytime the hair comes out i feel a certain itch and so i itch my scalp n' a piece or 2 of my hairs comes along with it. I feel the itch is due to the fact that the hair follicle is about to come out. I want to know what i can do and the precautions i can take. This really is lowering my confidence and self-esteem and i am just praying i can get through this. I come from a family that has great and not so great hair. My dad's father lost his hair in the late 20's and i am scared i am one of the candiates to possibly have the same issue. I don't know if propecia is good for me either because of the certain side effects concerning sexual problems. Could sexual acts in a male increase DHT from the conversion of testosterone into DHT by an enzyme, alpha 5 reductase? Please give me an answer that i can take and use. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank You. | |
